“Our lives are shaped by stories. They teach us, define us and inspire us, but when we are only exposed to stories that convey similar worldviews, we begin to believe the narrative from the perspective of the dominant culture. It is imperative that we tell all kinds of stories from all kinds of storytellers so that there is fair representation of different ethnicities and cultures created by artists from varied social and cultural circumstances.”
